When the midnight clock strikes

Just when I thought I would most likely be catching either a movie or some shopping spree on a friday night, guess what was I doing even till 12:45 am?
Wall painting? NAH I did that last weekend. This is the plum red colour that I have chosen for my wall. Actually I used flash hile taking the pics so the colour of the wall is much darker and reddish =)

Woo beautiful flowers!
Pasting stickers on the the wall ?? NAH Still wrong who needs to paste stickers until 12:45am? Even kindergarden students can do it before their bedtime story.
Look carefully again

These flowers are not stickers! Yep they are actually painted on flowers! The stupid stickers that I bought from IKEA wasn't able to stick on well on the newly painted wall and keep dropping off here and there. Got me frustrated and piss. So last night at 10 plus, I suddenly got inspired and borrow some paint from my mother-in-law and started painting. Thank goodness in between my sister in law helped out and pace up the working speed =)
NICE work Princess Christine!!

Much Ado About Nothing

Guess what? With this long weekend, I decided to plan a special date for woodblock and me.

When I told a colleague about it, the first thing he asked was : "What special occasion is it?"

I was pretty much stunned for a moment when I heard his question and I laughed and asked him back :
"Why MUST it be some occasion to plan something special?"

His reaction, a sheepish laugh at his own question!

Now this is a very dangerous mindset(ahem esp the guys) for us to fall into as when our relationship with our partners starts to age, esp when we are talking about those r/s that's has been ongoing for years. It is aleady definitely not an easy task to face the mundane daily work activities and life routine so why make it harder when it comes to r/s with your partner.

Our partner is here to provide us with(vice-versa):

  1. A source of solace
  2. A good company from being lonely
  3. A good hug for security
  4. Laughter
  5. Adoration
  6. A best friend that reads your mind
  7. A sharer for our joy
  8. A spectator to our glory moments
  9. A witness to the biography of our life

Therefore it doesn't makes sense that as time goes by you take it for granted that such qualities will just magically maintain by itself. Therefore even in the event whereby it is not a special date, it is good to remember to take note of little things to love your partner and of course do go fo little special dates whenever you can to spice up both your life and r/s.

Not known to everyone, actually every morning I will walk to work(partial route) with woodblock for a precious 10 mins hand in hand striking simple conversations in the quiet morning. Perhaps due to the serenity of the morning silence, it seems to make every conversation so ever peaceful to me.

Therefore it isn't a surprise that I simply adore this routine! Being able to talk to the person I love and being able to have the pleasure to spend such quality time with him the first thing in the every morning is the most romantic daily routine I look forward to and enjoys it very much greatly.

Sometimes even little drizzles in the morning became a bonus as we shared an umbrella and walked even closer together in the cold morning.

There was once that I even told woodblock that I wished that time would stopped so that we can be together under the drizzle forever (a very crazy idea to woodblock tho)

Anyway back to the little special date that I have plan for my woodblock:

Much Ado About Nothing

Love, laughter, madness and mayhem.
Shakespeare in the Park’ returns this May with one of the greatest comedies of all time.
Sumptuous costumes, a spectacular set, music, dancing, word play and laughter come together to make a joyful night.
Bring a picnic basket and blanket and sit under the stars as the park comes to life like you have never seen before. (I'm actually bought by this particular advertising statement)

As war-weary soldiers return home, sparks fly as a battle of love commences. At the wealthy Leonato’s house, the beautiful young Hero catches the eye of Claudio, a handsome soldier. They fall in love at first sight and rush headlong into marriage, but they still have a lot to learn about each other. There is no such hurry for confirmed singletons Beatrice and Benedick, whose scorn for love and love of bickering inspire their scheming friends to plot them a happy ending.
A hilarious showdown between the sexes unfolds in Shakespeare's dark and dazzling romantic comedy.

Directed by Edward Dick who directed the hugely successful tour of Romeo and Juliet for Shakespeare's Globe as well as A Midsummer Night's Dream for the Sydney Theatre Company. He also directed Twelfth Night for Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre.

Starring Adrian Pang (MediaCorp Artiste) with Jason Chan, Michael Corbidge, Wendy Kweh and Julie Wee.
I cant wait to start packing the picnic basket with my dear woodblock! Such a new exciting experience for us!

Wedding heels for Wedding Gown and Evening Gown

Was out celebrating birthday for Johnathon and I happened to pass by the Charles and Keith Outlet(Orchard branch). There, I saw many ladies crowding inside the shoe boutique despite the fact that it is on a weekday(somemore mid week only). Taking a closer look, I got real excited as there was a great sale going on!

While I was browsing through all the gorgeous heels, something caught my eyes that make it twinkle like nuts! It was a pair of black lace heels!!! As usual, I was trying to look high and low for a pair of heels that suit my vintge theme wedding and I must say this pair of heels fits the bill so well.

However, sad to say, when I asked for size 36, the sales girl told me it has been sold out. I was really horrified and quickly asked her if she could checked out with the other outlets... but heng ar the only pair left in the whole of Singapore was on display at the Causeway Point Shopping Centre. So immediately I asked her to 'chop' the heels for me!!

SO today, I quickly went down after work to fetch the reserved heels!

TADA, presenting my evening wedding heels!
The cutting makes it kinda sexy isn't it!

A close-up of the black vintage beauty

Not to forget to capture the details of the lace!

Voila the side profile: 3.5 inch
Overview of the front. Actually the cutting is exactly the same as my pink rom heels! Just that now the fabric has change to a lace with more detailings.
Still can't believe my luck =P
Just in case you are wondering, the fabric at the back is my curtain lol. Using it for the first time, so it has yet been wash and yep it is still vry wrinkled =P
So after I settle the heels for my evening gown, I still obviously need a pair of white one to match my wedding gown too! With such perfect pair of evening gown heels, it is hard not to feel despair on whether if I can find a similar pair of gorgeous white heels which fits the vintage theme too.

Just when I was about to stepped out of the shoe boutique, "WHOOPS" , something caught my twinkling eye again

Wah seh! Is this some kind of drama serial? Why does good things appear so dramatically?
A full covered white lace heels
Just a change of colour and design, from the black vintage sexy now the heels has transformed into white classic vintage elegance. Amazing work of art.
I realise that this pair of heels is actually of the same series as my black heels Glad that it came in another design. Whoppee!!!!
The reason why I say that I am lucky?
Both pairs are the very last size 36 lace heels in the shop. Am I a lucky BTB or what?
.
The best part?
.
I bought it at a super discounted price:
Initial total cost: $115.80 (actually for such pricing, most btbs would have probably just bought one pair of heels)
Discounted total price: $63.40!! ($$$ KACHING $$$)
.
I love prepping my vintage theme wedding!
.
PS: Actually I already notice the black lace heels a long time ago but due to the pricing, I couldn't bear myself to buy it so I shrug off the idea of it and forgotten about this pair of heels totally until i saw in the bouqtique again. I guess it was a good but a rather taunting wait to think that the heels ran out of stock so fast and there will not be new incoming stock for it again.

A close up preview of my Si Dian Jin

I have finally collected the jewelleries back from Goldheart ! Now I can finally take a closer and clearer pictures of the Si Dian Jin (ok now currently is San Dian Jin bcos i have yet settle the bracelet).

As mentioned, Goldheart was nice enough to provide me with a box for placing the Ala Carte Si Dian Jin that I have chosen as it makes a nice display for my jewelleries.

The salesgirl even offered to wrapped a nice ribbon on the box as she says that some parents might complain that it is too plain and inauspicious to have just the whitebox alone. Very thoughtful of her but then again I thought the ribbon looks a little plain. If I have time, I might try to repackage the box a little=)

Once we were out of the shop, Woodblock secretly told me that he thinks I can do a better job then just tying a ribbon to decorate the box.
Now proudly opening the box... TADA!
The black backing enhances the colour of the rose gold and the glimmery of the diamonds =)

A close up of the pendant.

A very matching earring which I love the fact that it is not those super long dangling kind but a nice short elegant one which I can wear for future dinner banquet next time.

An artistic shot of the 3 pieces together.
The omega necklace is something i love so much as it is a smart invention of the combination of white gold + rose gold on either side. Meaning I can choose
to wear the necklace either in white or rose gold depending on the type of pendent that I slot in. A very modern and versatile jewellery which is a good reason I am willing to
fork out 400 plus for this particular necklace alone.
I love my si dian jin so much! Now I just have to look for a matching bracelet which the sales person from goldheart have promise me to help me. The company is giving me priority to reserve and view the jewelleries(as in those new upcoming ones in purple gem+rose gold combintation) once they out out! super excited!!!

Costing :$1688 so far and sounds like a very auspicious number isn't it? Looks like I will exceed the tight $2k budget but then again, it is not easy to piece up something which is gorgeous and yet at such a price for Si Dian Jin.... I feel like a big winner suddenly just by marveling at the goreous jewellery set that I have chosen. Even my mother in law commented that it looks great!

Japan Getaway

Not many pple know that I'm a JAp food lover and I am a sucker for sashimi but NOT WASABI!

So this weekend , woodblock decided that we shall fly to Japan to eat... BUT where to? Japan is so huge with lots of delicacy spread out in every province...

TADA ... We eloped to a quaint town to have a quiet and cosy meal together. The snow is gently falling outside the log cabin and there for once, woodblock and me were stuck in a foreign land with just only each other for company. For once, the world seemed to be own by us... it was such romantic moment beyond

Eh, what is this?!? CHEH woodblock's Japan is in SINGAPORE's TAMpINES MALL?!?!? %$^$^^#%%# (suddenly all the romantic scene picture before starts crumbling in Princess Christine's DREAM wonderland)
yes woodblock did honour his word to bring me around to eat Japan's cuisine with OSAKA, HOKKAIDO, OSAKA etc
BUt he din tell me everything is within a food court size restaurant =P
So our adventure starts here at MANPUKU

The restaurant functions very much like MArche with the card system to purchase any food.

And the reserved sign also emphasises tat we shouldn't be misplacing the card as it is most prolly expensive =(
I do love the rich Japanese decor of the stall in here.. however, after some snapping around I got real bored, as every store decor seems a little identical =P bleah for my aesthetic taste.

Since they emphasize so much of the food from the different areas, why didn't they differentiate the decor of the stores more ?!?!?

Don't ask me why woodblock loves to wear the same shirt every single weekend. All he told me was that he was afraid that I will get lost and it will be convenient to have a shirt imprinted with a clear message : WHERE ARE YOU? Actually to me, he is the one who is more likely going to get lost as he loves wandering around without telling me where he is going every time.
So I prefer to keep my wallet with me to have more sense of security =P
Actually I WISH WOODBLOCK WILL REALLY GET LOST FOR ONCE so as to give me a chance to try out those announcement service to tell the whole shopping centre a boy name woodblock is lost in the shopping centre if he EVAs wander off again without giving me any warning.

Finally, after much walking around, woodblock ordered Mixed Seafood Grill

TADA

I ordered Kimchi Flavoured NAbeyaki Udon instead

Apparently woodblock loves what I ordered more than what he ordered.
At the different areas of the restaurant, I love the fact that it has different decor setting =)
I deliberately chose a western setting decor to sit at! Haiz I already mentioned I'm into vintage tuff these days so it doesn't come much as a surprise for me to choose such a spot to dine my FAV JAP FOOD!

Can't wait to tuck in quickly before woodblock stretch out his SUPER GREEDY hand and attack my NABEYAKI UDON =P
Woodblock always have a bad habit of asking the famous
question which always drive Princess Christine NUTS
: " Is your food nice?"
Now this is no ordinary question. Since the uni days, Princess Christine realise this means woodblock wants to eat a few big mouth ful of your food!
So woodblock's anticipated answer will be : "Why don't you try it out and you will know"
So here's what I tried :
1) Just tell him it is nice.
Consequence: Woodblock will say really? and then tell me he wants to try it too.
2) Just tell him it is not nice.
Consequence: Woodblock will say really? and then tell me he wants to try it too and help me eat.
3) Pretend and ignore the question
Consequence: Woodblock is very patient when he just wants to eat YOUR food. He can keep asking the same question over and over again until you give him the right anticipated answer.
In words, no matter how hard princess Christine tries, her food will always end up partially in woodblock's tummy.
So the best way to counter attack the situation is to simply eat up woodblock's food while he is attacking your food away. Not the best strategy but definitely a more fulfiling meal strategy to fight against a hungry woodblock.
SIGHz at the end of the day, all I can say was that the food at MANPUKU isn't yummy at all and I wont be going back for food but I might go back to try out its desserts instead =)
Next stop: Desserts at swenson!
After we place our order, woodblock already started to look dreamily at his fav: food pics in brochures!

He subconsciously let out a dreamy smile to indicate his indulgence with such hobby

ooooo even the spoons are telling us the sign that desserts are sinful =P

Wdooblock looks kinda of sad whenever he waits for food to come.

Starting to get a little glum and blue from waiting

When's my ice cream coming?

YAy my banana split!

And for woodblock .... ?!?!?!?!

HUH a Happy Birthday Fire Engine Sundae? See woodblock's facial expression turns back into dreamy look after the ice cream is here =)

Let me blow out the candle for ya! Actually woodblock was staring at the candle dreamily for WAY TOO LONG until the candle wax started dripping! I got a little impatient and decided to just blow out his ice cream fantasy for him and gett him to start eating.
HMMm Our 5th year anniversary will be here soon on 23rd May. I'm getting so excited about it! wonder if woodblock will still be in singapore to celeb with me =( never mind we shall have a makeup celeb during june in BATAM =)
Been stuck at home all day with a flu =( Nope I never been to Mexico and I definitely don't have a fever =P
Get well soon Princess Christine!
