Another Sweet Honeymoon getaway @ Harris Batam

Last weekend, woodblock and me were busy honeymooning away at Harris resort in Batam!!
(Actually we took on the honeymoon package but actually it has nothing to do with honeymoon though lol)

After arriving at waterfront city dock, we were surprise to be received by the Harris resort staff directly who helped all their customers to take care of the check-in. All we have to do is just leave our pass port with them and then out we board their resort's shuttle bus.

Whie waiting for check in, woodblock and I were famished and we went to the Harris cafe for lunch.
Harris resort's signature was ORANGE colour!

Seafood Grill

Pizza with 2 flavours ( found it so so while woodblock thought it was delicious)

After a hearty meal and a relative long wait till 2:30 pm we finally check in to our free room upgrade - Harris Cabana!!!
As this is a honeymoon package, we were welcome with flowery bed settings hhahah

I was really amuse and jump right in to bed and got woodblock to help me take a snap with the flowers.

of cos since this is "honeymoon", how can i leave out woodblock?

haha tried out some other cute poses.

but very soon, i got bored with the flowers on the bed and

A last snap before we went for a walk by the pool and then a spa massage at Harris in house spa parlour.
Soon after the massage and some lazing around, it was soon dinner time!!
We went down to the Harris cafe for our dinner and to our delight, we were led to the poolside. Gone were the morning settings of a pool side with all the sunbeds in which dining tables were set-up instead!!

The settings were romantic to the max and couple diners are not just having a candle light dinner by the poolside, but just right in front is a live band which plays romantic songs while we chill out.

The best thing was, this is not just a romantic setting kind of dinner, but it greatly satisfy pple like woodblock as it was a bbq dinner buffet as well => prawns, sotongs, crab, chicken wings etc I must say the food was pretty yummy too!!!
Both woodblock and me were very high as it was a rare time whereby we manage to find a place to dine which satisfy both our pockets, our senses(ambience and GREAT MUSIC) and most importantly our tummies(good food).

If you think the live band by the resort is substandard you ARE ABSOLUTELY WRONG WRONG WRONG!
Here's the reason why I thought their live band was so value added:
1) Diners can choose the songs we want and asked them to sing. (i got them to sing my fav wedding song "I'm yours")
2) They sing a variety of languages which cater for various diners(very flexible and considerate)
3) There is one part whereby there's a solo section by the saxophonist - I almost wanna tear listening to how beautiful the songs were - it wasn't exaggeration when i say it was romantic to the max
3) As the night gets darker, they even hype the atmosphere with
dancing!!!!!
Now even though i cant capture the pics clearly with my camra, but you should realise that the number of pple dancing is like "humongous"
Yes Harris staff is very dedicate to provide the best for the guests and the best part i like about their service is that they enjoy providing the great service so much.
When you see so many harris staff enjoying the night so much by joining into the dance automatically, to be honest you feel like getting up to dance with them. i coulnd't help nodding my head to the music beat while tapping my feets.
4) Of cos they even gotten the guests to join in the dance.Woodblock and i really really had lots of fun dancing together =)

A very happy and satisfied Christine

Let's toast to this gorgeous romantic dinner

Harris staff volunteer to help us take a pic (see i told ya, they are super value added in terms of service attitude). It was breezy by the poolside but the waiters were very patient to ensure the candles are kept lit.

Yes it is very oishiii (did i mentioned that woodblock has been wishing for a long time to have a chance to eat bbq buffet without cooking himself? his wish came true that night and up till now he still cant help praize about it and wants to go back again)

Indulgin to the music while we enjoy our red wine (yummy too)

This pic is a request from woodblock to help him bookmark another wonderful experience of his life and to show that his life has move up another ladder after his dream meal lol (talk about exaggeration for food but yes, this is so woodblock indeed)

As the night turns in, woodblock and me decided to go to the opposite side of the pool for stars gazing=) It was nice dipping our legs into the pool while we continue listening to the romantic music of the band who were still playing.
We will come back again =) We love Harris indeed not for the facilities(as some are still a little run down to us) but for the crazily warmth service(imagine you can just be walking anywhere on the corridor or by the poolside, and the Harris staff will greet you by surprise and asked for your well being so readily like as if they are your friends) of the staff and of cos for woodblock, it is for the bbq buffet.

  1. hi, can I check with you, for the spa timing and choices, do u inform the travel agency when u made the booking? or u only choose when u reach the harris resort? cuz' the agent actually told us that we get to choose the timing n choices only when we arrive upon the resort, but i am abit skeptical about that.

  2. Hi Miao, we actually book the timings and choose the type of massage after we reached there. the only time we choose the timing and type of massage before we went was when we sign up for the spa package with planet holiday hotel. so i guess diff hotel function differently?

  4. Hi pals, too many pple has been emailing in to enquire about harris package that I took.

The honeymoon package that I took is one of the standard ones offer by harris and you can either directly book from harris or through the tour agents.

costing wise I really cannot remember but i suggest that you can do a comparison between the price offer btwn tour agents and harris(there is no need to compare what is provided in the package becos it is definitely the same as it is the package offered by harris and not the tour agents).

Here are the various packages offered there:
    http://www.harris-batam.com/php/packages.php#
I always checked them out on regular basis as ultimately it will be what is offered by your tour agent.

Food wise I only like the bbq dinner and not too fantastic for the other food.

    Hope it helps =)

  5. Chris, thanks for the website. Btw, does the package include ferry tickets? Coz i found a promo quite similar to what harris is offering but is cheaper and inclusive of ferry tickets.
